Social media personality Abiodun Ademola, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged threats to kill Seyi Tinubu.
The 37-year-old, who resides at Tafodi Estate, Royal Park, Lekki, is facing a three-count charge bordering on alleged threat to life, offensive online publication and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.
The prosecution, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Okunuga, Officer-in-Charge of the Legal Department at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, alleged that the offences were committed on July 5, 2026, in Lekki, Lagos.
According to the prosecution, Ademola allegedly posted a video on his Facebook and Instagram accounts, @djchicken, in which he threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu.
Police further alleged that the video was intended to reach Seyi Tinubu and instil fear through its circulation on social media.
The prosecution also claimed that the defendant published a grossly offensive and menacing video in violation of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015, alleging that he threatened to kill Seyi Tinubu if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu contested or won the 2027 presidential election.
According to the prosecution, the defendant’s actions were capable of causing a breach of public peace and disturbing public order.
The alleged offences are said to contravene Sections 232 and 168(d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, as well as Section 24 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Magistrate M.F. Onamusi granted Ademola bail in the sum of ₦1 million with two sureties in like sum.
The court ruled that one surety must be a blood relative bearing the defendant’s surname, while the second must be a recognised community leader or clergyman. Both sureties are also required to present evidence of three years’ tax payments and Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) verification before the bail conditions can be perfected.
The matter was adjourned until August 3, 2026, for further hearing.
