The Plateau State Police Command has arrested a suspected mastermind of the deadly attack on Bim-Perr community in Kombun District, Mangu Local Government Area.
The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, reportedly left 25 people dead and four others injured.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the arrest in a telephone interview with journalists.
Alabo described the development as a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation, adding that security operatives are intensifying efforts to identify and arrest other suspects linked to the attack.
He assured residents that the police and other security agencies remain committed to bringing those responsible to justice and preventing further attacks.
Authorities also said efforts are ongoing to restore calm and strengthen security in the affected community.
