The Nigeria Police Force is set to hold its sixth Conference and Retreat for Senior Police Officers to develop strategies for effective security management ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The three-day conference, tagged CARSPO 2026, will take place from September 21 to 23, 2026, in Owerri, Imo State, with the theme, “Developing a Nigeria Police Roadmap for Effective Management of Security During Elections.”
The event will bring together senior police officers, security experts and other stakeholders to examine emerging electoral security threats and develop practical responses.
Discussions will focus on intelligence-led policing, community partnerships, digital technologies and artificial intelligence to strengthen security operations before, during and after the elections.
The conference is expected to produce actionable strategies for protecting voters, candidates, electoral officials, election materials and the general public throughout the electoral cycle.
The police high command said the initiative is part of efforts to strengthen strategic leadership, professionalism and operational readiness ahead of the 2027 polls.
