The Police Service Commission has announced April 28 to 30, 2026, as the dates for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBT) in the ongoing police recruitment exercise.
The examination will follow the nationwide physical and credential screening, scheduled to conclude on April 18, and will be conducted across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to a statement from the Sokoto State Police Command, Police Public Relations Officer Ahmad Rufa’i described the CBT as a crucial stage in the recruitment process, aimed at ensuring only qualified candidates are selected into the Nigeria Police Force.
He explained that the duration of the test will vary by state depending on the number of candidates and availability of functional CBT centres. While some states may complete the exercise in one day, others may require the full three-day period.
Rufa’i added that the flexible scheduling is designed to accommodate operational differences across states, while ensuring that all eligible applicants are given equal opportunity to participate.
He urged candidates to remain calm and rely only on official communication channels for updates on venues and shortlisted names, noting that such information will be released in due course.
The police also cautioned against misinformation, emphasizing that all official updates regarding the recruitment exercise will be shared through verified platforms.
The exercise is part of broader efforts to strengthen manpower and operational capacity within the Nigeria Police Force.
