The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, Mrs. Kikelomo Bolarinwa, has charged participants of the Public Service Accelerator Programme (PSAP) to embrace effective leadership, loyalty, professionalism and continuous self-development.
Bolarinwa gave the charge during an interactive session with PSAP participants in her office, where she urged the officers to see themselves as agents of positive change capable of contributing to the growth and transformation of the Lagos State Public Service.
The programme, which selected 100 officers from the Lagos State Civil Service, is designed to strengthen leadership skills, strategic thinking, professional capacity and mindsets while aligning participants’ development with the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Development Agenda.
The Permanent Secretary shared lessons from her career journey in the Civil Service, encouraging the participants to learn from her experiences and remain committed to excellence and continuous personal development. She also explained the mandate of the Ministry and its role in implementing people-centred programmes across the State’s 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas, traditional institutions and Community Development Associations.
Bolarinwa congratulated the participants on their selection, describing the programme as an opportunity to develop the leadership capacity needed to shape the future of the State’s public service. She also commended the Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pensions for its human capital development initiatives.
In his vote of thanks, Mr. Oyerinde Adebayo, who spoke on behalf of the participants, expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary for sharing her experience and providing deeper insight into the Ministry’s mandate, noting that the session would enhance their effectiveness as public officers.
