Spanish giants Real Madrid have completed the signing of Dutch international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, securing the experienced right-back on a four-year contract until June 2030.
The club confirmed the transfer on Sunday, with reports indicating that the deal is worth approximately €20 million ($23 million).
Dumfries, 30, arrives at the Santiago Bernabéu after an impressive spell with Inter Milan, where he established himself as one of Europe’s most dynamic attacking full-backs. Since joining the Italian club from PSV Eindhoven in 2021, he won two Serie A titles and helped Inter reach the UEFA Champions League final on two occasions.
The Netherlands international also featured for his country at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Dutch were eliminated in the Round of 32 following a penalty shootout defeat to Morocco.
At Real Madrid, Dumfries is expected to strengthen competition at right-back alongside England international Trent Alexander-Arnold, who also joined the club this summer.
The Dutch defender becomes Madrid’s fourth signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konaté, as the club continues a major squad rebuild.
The overhaul follows two consecutive trophyless seasons, prompting the appointment of veteran Portuguese coach José Mourinho, who replaced Álvaro Arbeloa at the helm.
Real Madrid have also secured the future of experienced defender Antonio Rüdiger, extending his contract until 2027, following the departures of long-serving defenders Dani Carvajal and David Alaba at the end of last season.
With Dumfries’ arrival, Los Blancos continue to reshape their squad in pursuit of domestic and European success.
