Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that he could retire from professional football after the 2026 season, describing the year as “probably” his final campaign.
The 41-year-old Portugal captain made the revelation in an interview with Vogue, saying he wants to leave behind a “spectacular legacy” after more than two decades at the highest level of the game.
Ronaldo, who has scored more than 950 goals for club and country, has previously suggested that his retirement could come within the next one or two years. He is expected to continue with Al Nassr in the new Saudi Pro League season.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner said he has already considered life after football, with travel and padel among the activities he hopes to pursue. He also reflected on the sacrifices made throughout his 25-year career.
