Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for financial institutions to thrive, describing the sector as a critical driver of economic growth in Lagos and across Nigeria.
The governor made this known while receiving the President and Chairman of the Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Dr. Dele Alabi, and his delegation on a courtesy visit.
Sanwo-Olu noted that strong partnerships with professional institutions such as the CIBN are essential to building a resilient financial system capable of supporting sustainable economic development.
He commended the institute for its continued commitment to professionalism and capacity building within Nigeria’s banking industry, adding that the Lagos State Government would continue to collaborate with stakeholders to strengthen the financial sector and improve service delivery.
The governor also expressed appreciation to Dr. Alabi and the CIBN leadership for their contributions to advancing the country’s economy through sound banking practices and professional excellence.
