Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday inspected the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Surulere, where he commended residents for actively participating in efforts to keep their communities clean.
The governor said he was encouraged to see residents working alongside officials of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to clear drainage channels and sweep streets during the exercise.
According to him, maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility that plays a vital role in protecting public health and preventing flooding across the state.
Sanwo-Olu thanked residents of Surulere for their commitment and urged Lagosians to sustain the same level of environmental consciousness beyond the monthly sanitation exercise.
He stressed that achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Lagos depends on the daily actions and collective responsibility of all residents.
