Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded a total of $22,500 to three groups that emerged with the best innovative ideas at the graduation ceremony of the second cohort of the Public Service Accelerator Programme (PSAP).
The ceremony, held at Lagos House, Marina, marked the completion of the capacity-building programme for 100 middle-level public officers.
The overall best group received $10,000, while the second and third-place groups received $7,500 and $5,000 respectively.
Sanwo-Olu urged the graduates to return to their respective Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and apply the skills gained to promote innovation, problem-solving and improved service delivery.
The Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, and Head of Service, Bode Agoro, described the programme as part of efforts to develop a skilled and forward-thinking public service.
According to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Establishments, Oluwatoyin Atanda, the 100 graduates emerged from a pool of about 3,000 applicants who underwent assessments and interviews.
