Sanwo-Olu urges Lagos youth to embrace skills, create Jobs

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged young people in the state to acquire relevant skills and become employers of labour rather than relying solely on seeking employment opportunities.

The governor gave the charge through his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, who represented him at the graduation ceremony of students of the Eko Studio Culture Programme themed “Creating Wealth, Elevating Lagos Creatives.”

Sanwo-Olu emphasised the importance of skills development, entrepreneurship, and creativity in empowering youths to compete favourably in the global economy.

He noted that equipping young people with practical skills would not only improve their livelihoods but also position them as contributors to economic growth and innovation.

The governor encouraged Lagos youths to take advantage of available opportunities in the creative sector and other industries, stressing that skill acquisition remains a key pathway to personal advancement and wealth creation.

The Eko Studio Culture Programme is aimed at nurturing talents, supporting creative entrepreneurs, and strengthening Lagos’ position as a hub for innovation and creative excellence.
