The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been honoured with the Best Governor in Nigeria for the 2026 Hajj Exercise Award by Sana Company, a leading Saudi Arabian hospitality and pilgrim service provider.
The award was presented during a recognition ceremony in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, where officials, Hajj administrators, Islamic scholars, and dignitaries gathered to celebrate outstanding contributions to the success of the 2026 Hajj.
According to the management of Sana Company, Governor Yusuf was recognised for his commitment to the welfare of Kano pilgrims, strong support for Hajj operations, and the exceptional organisation displayed by the state’s contingent throughout the pilgrimage.
The company commended the discipline of Kano pilgrims and the effective coordination of state officials, noting that the contingent stood out among those from across Nigeria for its compliance with Saudi regulations and operational guidelines.
The award also acknowledged Kano State’s sustained efforts to improve pilgrim welfare through enhanced administrative support, effective communication, and close collaboration with service providers in the Kingdom.
Receiving the recognition, officials of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board described the award as a testament to the collective efforts of the state government, Hajj administrators, religious leaders, and pilgrims in ensuring a successful pilgrimage exercise.
