Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has approved an indefinite ban on graduation ceremonies in kindergarten, primary and secondary schools to ease the financial burden on parents.
The state government said the directive applies to all graduation, passing-out and crossover ceremonies in both public and private schools. However, Senior Secondary School (SS3) graduation ceremonies are exempt, provided no levies or financial demands are imposed on students or their parents.
Authorities warned that schools violating the directive risk sanctions, including possible closure.
