Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has backed Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal to become a football legend, praising the teenager’s rapid rise at club and international level.
De la Fuente described Yamal as being “on his way to become an absolute football legend” and said the youngster would be Spain’s standout Ballon d’Or candidate if he were the country’s only player in contention.
The Spain coach, however, stressed that several Spanish players deserve recognition and said he respects all of them.
Yamal has continued to attract attention with his performances for Barcelona and the Spanish national team, establishing himself as one of the most highly regarded young players in world football.
