Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained their 26th position in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday, according to official updates from the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
The ranking reflects the team’s recent run of international fixtures under head coach Éric Chelle, including matches at the Unity Cup invitational tournament held in London.
During the tournament, Nigeria secured a 2–0 win over Zimbabwe and a convincing 3–0 victory over Jamaica, showcasing strong performances against regional opponents.
In subsequent international friendlies, the Super Eagles played out a 2–2 draw against Poland in Warsaw before suffering a 2–1 defeat to Portugal in Leiria.
Despite the mixed results, Nigeria maintained its position as the third-ranked team in Africa, behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions and Senegal’s Teranga Lions. Algeria and Egypt complete the continent’s top five.
On the global stage, the top five rankings remain unchanged, with reigning world champions Argentina holding first place, followed by Spain, France, England, and Portugal.
