Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has stressed that Nigeria cannot afford to lose focus as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking after arriving at the team’s training camp in Casablanca, the Brighton shot-stopper said the defending champions would approach the tournament one match at a time in pursuit of a record-extending 11th WAFCON title and qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Nnadozie noted that despite the expansion of the tournament from 12 to 16 teams, the Super Falcons remain calm and fully focused on achieving their objectives.
The team’s preparations gathered momentum on Monday with the arrival of captain Rasheedat Ajibade, Asisat Oshoala and several other players, while the remaining members of the 25-player squad are expected to join camp in the coming days.
Nigeria, drawn in Group C, will begin their title defence against Malawi on July 28, before facing Zambia on August 1 and Egypt on August 5.
