Nigeria’s Super Falcons will battle Egypt in their final Group C match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
The defending champions know that victory will guarantee qualification after recovering from a shock opening defeat to Malawi with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Zambia. Depending on the outcome of the Zambia versus Malawi fixture, anything less than three points could leave Nigeria’s qualification hopes in doubt.
The Super Falcons, however, will be without defender Tosin Demehin, who is suspended after receiving a red card against Zambia, while midfielder Jennifer Echegini also misses the encounter due to suspension.
Egypt head into the game already eliminated after defeats to Zambia and Malawi but will be determined to end their campaign on a positive note and upset Nigeria’s ambitions.
Nigeria will once again rely on captain Rasheedat Ajibade and six-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala to inspire the team as they chase a place in the knockout stage.
