Four Americans, including José Alberto Suárez, a senior Telemundo executive, were among seven people killed when a helicopter crashed in northern Kenya.
Suárez was the president and general manager of three Telemundo stations serving communities in Florida. He had spent years in television leadership and was remembered by colleagues for his warmth, humour, dedication and commitment to the communities served by his stations.
The helicopter crashed on Wednesday near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County, a rugged area popular with tourists. All seven people on board, including the pilot, died in the incident.
NBCUniversal News Group paid tribute to Suárez, describing him as an exceptional colleague whose impact extended beyond the stations he led.
Kenyan authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
