Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal on Thursday held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss security challenges, economic development, and political issues in the state.
According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the talks focused largely on tackling insecurity in Zamfara and identifying strategies to strengthen the state’s economy.
President Tinubu reportedly reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Zamfara, including plans to deploy additional troops and provide necessary equipment to enhance security operations.
The governor also updated the president on economic developments in the state, particularly improvements in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), and explored areas where federal support could further drive growth and job creation.
The meeting took place shortly after the president’s engagement with APC governors at the Presidential Villa.
