Tinubu Commends Troops for Eliminating Bandit Kingpin, Rescuing General’s Widow

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for a successful operation in Kogi State that led to the neutralisation of a notorious bandit leader, identified as Ibrahim Bastuji.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President described the operation as a major victory against criminal networks responsible for kidnappings, violence, and insecurity in Kogi State and surrounding areas.

According to the Presidency, the elimination of the bandit kingpin is expected to bring relief to affected communities and strengthen public confidence in ongoing security operations.

President Tinubu also commended troops for the successful rescue of Hajiya Amina Rabe Abubakar, widow of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, describing the operation as a demonstration of professionalism, courage, and effective intelligence coordination.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing the Armed Forces with the resources, training, and support needed to tackle banditry, kidnapping, and other security threats across the country.

He further urged Nigerians to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information that can aid efforts to maintain peace and security nationwide.
