President Bola Tinubu has commended Nigeria’s security agencies for rescuing 308 kidnapped victims in separate operations across Kwara and Niger states, describing it as the largest single-day rescue mission in the country’s history.
According to the Presidency, 163 victims were rescued from Woro Community in Kwara State, while 145 others were freed in Niger State during a coordinated intelligence-led operation involving the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, the Armed Forces, the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force.
President Tinubu praised the security personnel for their bravery and directed relevant agencies to strengthen early warning systems, improve intelligence gathering and enhance rapid response efforts to prevent future mass abductions across the country.
