President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences over the death of the Emir of Zurmi and Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, who died on Monday, five years after ascending the throne.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President condoled with the late monarch’s family, the Zurmi Emirate Council, the Zamfara State Government and people, as well as the traditional institution across Nigeria.
Tinubu described the late Emir as a respected traditional ruler who served his people with wisdom, dignity and commitment, particularly during a challenging period marked by security concerns in the region.
The President also commended the monarch for his courage and leadership in navigating the Zurmi Emirate through security challenges while promoting peace, unity and resilience among his people.
Tinubu described the late Emir as a stabilising figure whose counsel and dedication to peace-building contributed to efforts to strengthen peace and security in Zurmi, Zamfara State and the wider North-West.
The President prayed that Almighty Allah forgive the late monarch’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
He also prayed for comfort and strength for the deceased’s family, the Zurmi Emirate and all those mourning his passing.
