Tinubu receives former Sokoto Governorship candidate into APC

President Bola Tinubu has welcomed former Sokoto State governorship candidate, Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, back to the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing his return as a boost for the ruling party.

Ubandoma was received at the Presidential Villa in Abuja after being presented by APC leader in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, following his recent defection to the party.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, President Tinubu assured the former governorship candidate of his full support and seamless integration into the APC.

The President also urged Ubandoma to work closely with Senator Wamakko and Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu to strengthen the party and consolidate its achievements in the state.

Ubandoma, a former Commissioner for Finance and former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2023 election before joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He has now returned to the APC.

The meeting focused on strengthening the APC’s structure in Sokoto State and promoting unity within the party.
