President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to rise above their religious, ethnic and political differences and work together to preserve the unity of the country, stressing that dialogue remains essential to sustaining peace and stability.
Tinubu, represented by Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, made the call at an international conference on security and national unity organised by JIBWIS in collaboration with the Muslim World League.
The President said his administration remains committed to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges and promoting peace through collaboration with other nations.
Also speaking, APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, urged political leaders to stop exploiting religion and ethnicity for political advantage, warning that temporary political gains could cause lasting damage to the country.
Yilwatda said Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division, urging religious leaders to promote peace, reconciliation and responsible citizenship.
He also called on Nigerians to reject hate speech, violence and division, stressing the need to protect one another regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
