Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded further operational successes in Kaduna and Katsina States, arresting suspected terrorist collaborators, recovering weapons and ammunition, and destroying terrorist enclaves.
The operations were conducted on August 27 and 28, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and their support structures across the North-West.
On August 27, troops of Sector 1 acted on intelligence that led to the arrest of a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaduna State.
The suspect was reportedly found with two locally fabricated firearms and 13 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag. During preliminary questioning, he allegedly disclosed that he had been assigned to deliver the weapons and ammunition to another individual.
Acting on the information, troops conducted a follow-up operation and arrested two additional suspects allegedly linked to the movement of the weapons.
The three suspects, along with the recovered arms, ammunition and other items, are currently undergoing further investigation.
In Katsina State, troops of Sector 2, supported by other security agencies, conducted a clearance operation on August 28 against identified terrorist enclaves around Maharba and Karaduwa in Matazu Local Government Area.
The troops successfully cleared and destroyed the enclaves and other structures allegedly used by the terrorists to support their criminal activities.
The latest operations underscore the continued efforts of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist networks, deny them operational bases and strengthen security across the North-West.
