Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA (JTF NW OPFY), have recorded significant operational successes in Kaduna State, arresting a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his syndicate, while also intercepting a suspected ammunition courier and apprehending a suspected terrorist logistics supplier in separate operations.
On 9 September 2026, troops of Sector 1 conducted a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, a known terrorist hideout in Kubau Local Government Area. The operation led to the arrest of a suspected terrorist kingpin and two other members of his syndicate. The suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation.
In a separate operation the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence intercepted a 50-year-old female suspected ammunition courier in Igabi Local Government Area. She was found in possession of 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect had travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, where she allegedly received the ammunition for onward delivery to terrorists in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State.
The suspects and recovered items remain in military custody as investigations continue.
These operations underscore the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupting terrorist networks, cutting off their logistics and supply chains, and restoring peace and security across the North-West.
