Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded another operational success following an intelligence-led operation targeting Boko Haram terrorists in the Lamusuri general area of Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The operation, conducted at about 11:00 a.m. on September 1, 2026, involved troops of the 120 Task Force Battalion under Sector 2, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops moved along a suspected terrorist route in the area, where they sighted a group of Boko Haram fighters and engaged them. During the ensuing encounter, one terrorist was neutralised, while others reportedly fled the area with suspected gunshot wounds.
Following the engagement, troops conducted an exploitation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, three magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, and one body pouch.
The latest operation highlights the impact of sustained intelligence-led operations and strengthened collaboration between security forces and local stakeholders in detecting and disrupting terrorist activities across the North East.
Operation HADIN KAI troops remain committed to maintaining pressure on terrorist elements, restricting their freedom of movement and action, and supporting ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the region.
