Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised a terrorist and recovered four motorcycles during a dawn offensive operation in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The operation, conducted on 4 September 2026, followed credible intelligence on the presence of terrorists around Yantumaki Forest. The troops launched a coordinated assault, engaging the terrorists with sustained firepower and forcing them to flee into surrounding bushes.
During the subsequent exploitation of the area, troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers, suspected to have been used in treating wounded terrorists.
The military said the operation demonstrates its continued commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist networks, degrading their operational capabilities and denying them freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA also urged the public to continue providing relevant information to security agencies to support ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist elements in the region.
