Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued a kidnapped victim in Kaduna State and foiled a terrorist attack in Sokoto State.
In Kaduna, troops of Sector 1 rescued a 43-year-old man abducted around Awon Community in Kachia Local Government Area on August 20, after pursuing the terrorists into nearby bushes. The victim was later reunited with his family.
In Sokoto, troops of Sector 2, alongside local security personnel, responded to an attack on Kwaren Gamba Village in Sabon Birni Local Government Area on August 21. The troops engaged the terrorists, forcing them to retreat.
One terrorist was neutralised during the pursuit, while troops recovered two mobile phones, cash, an ATM card, recharge cards and other items.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA says it will sustain operations to deny terrorists freedom of action and improve security across the North-West, while urging residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
