The U.S. Mission in Nigeria now requires all visa applicants to provide a full list of social media usernames used in the past five years as part of the DS-160 application process.
Announced via the Mission’s official X handle on Monday, the directive aligns with the U.S. Department of State’s efforts to enhance national security through stricter screening.
The Mission warned that failure to disclose social media history may result in visa denial and future ineligibility.
“Applicants certify that all information is true before submission. Omitting social media info could lead to serious consequences,” the embassy stated.
