The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has defended the credibility of the 2026 WASSCE results, dismissing unverified social media claims questioning their accuracy.
WAEC said every candidate’s script undergoes a multi-tiered process of marking, moderation and auditing, using standardised marking schemes and vetted subject experts to ensure fair and objective assessment.
The examination body urged candidates, parents and the public to rely on its official channels for clarification rather than unverified claims circulating online.
WAEC also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination and protecting the interests of candidates.
