Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated from the Premier League following West Ham’s goalless draw with Crystal Palace, which mathematically sealed their fate with five games remaining.
The Midlands side are now 16 points adrift of safety and will drop to the Championship after an underwhelming campaign that has yielded just three wins from 33 matches. Despite brief highlights, including victories over Aston Villa and Liverpool, Wolves struggled for consistency throughout the season and spent much of the campaign in the relegation zone.
The club has experienced managerial instability, with Vitor Pereira departing early in the season before Rob Edwards took over in November. However, Edwards was unable to reverse their fortunes, leaving Wolves’ eight-year stay in the top flight at an end.
The relegation battle also sees other struggling sides, including Burnley, still at risk, while several clubs continue to fight to avoid the drop as the season nears its conclusion.
