The Federal Government has successfully evacuated another group of Nigerians from South Africa, as the fifth batch of returnees arrived safely in Lagos on Thursday evening.
The Air Peace flight transported more than 180 Nigerians back home after a technical issue delayed the aircraft’s scheduled departure on Wednesday.
With the latest evacuation, the total number of Nigerians repatriated from South Africa following the recent xenophobic attacks has risen to approximately 1,000.
The ongoing evacuation exercise underscores the Federal Government’s efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of its citizens affected by the violence in South Africa.
