French football icon Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the new head coach of the France national team, signing a contract that will keep him in charge until June 2030.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the former Real Madrid manager has signed his contract and is expected to be officially unveiled in the coming days. Zidane will lead Les Bleus into the 2027 UEFA Nations League, UEFA Euro 2028, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
The 54-year-old returns to management after leaving Real Madrid in 2021, where he enjoyed a trophy-laden spell, winning three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga crowns, and several other domestic and international honours. A 1998 FIFA World Cup winner with France, Zidane now takes over from Didier Deschamps, who is expected to step down after the 2026 World Cup.
