The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s dedication to grooming a well-educated, professionally competent, and future-ready force through strategic educational investments.
Speaking at the 67th Passing Out Parade of the Nigerian Military School (NMS) in Zaria on Saturday, Oluyede, represented by Maj.-Gen. Mayirenso Saraso, GOC 1 Division, said the army is actively sponsoring soldiers, including ex-NMS students, to further their studies in reputable civilian institutions across Nigeria.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to building a modern and capable Nigerian Army,” he said, urging the new graduates to embrace excellence and selfless service as they formally join the ranks of the military.
He acknowledged both the support structures and challenges that lie ahead but encouraged the graduates to remain resilient as they begin their careers as junior leaders.
