The EFCC Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 has launched an investigation into Duru Ikechukwu Damian, who was arrested by the Nigeria Customs Service for allegedly failing to declare 59,000 at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
According to EFCC’s post on X, Damian, en route to Dubai on an Emirates flight, declared only 10,000. However, a search uncovered an additional 49,000.
He was intercepted at the AML/CFT Currency Declaration Desk on Monday. The NCS formally handed him over to the EFCC on Tuesday, with Area Comptroller E.I. Harrison stating it was part of ongoing enforcement efforts.
