The Kaura-Namoda South Constituency by-election in Zamfara State witnessed a large voter turnout on Saturday, with a generally peaceful atmosphere across many polling units.
The election was held to fill the seat left vacant after the death of Aminu Kasuwar-Daji, the former lawmaker representing the constituency in the State Assembly.
While polling units in Kyambarawa and Kurya-Madaro recorded impressive participation, reports emerged of voter inducement and BVAS-related delays in some areas.
Voting at Kasuwar Daji Primary School was disrupted by suspected thugs, resulting in the the cancellation of voting in two of the three polling units.
Zamfara APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, claimed a local government chairman led state security personnel to interfere with the process.
