President Tinubu Approves ₦16.7bn for Immediate Reconstruction of Flood-Damaged Mokwa Bridge

President Bola Tinubu has approved ₦16.7 billion for the urgent reconstruction of the Mokwa Bridge in Niger State, which was washed away by floods in May 2025.

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris announced on Saturday during a federal tour in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. He noted that the 10-span bridge reconstruction highlights the administration’s commitment to addressing critical infrastructure challenges.

The minister said the decision followed discussions with the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and reflects the president’s prompt response to national emergencies.
