Brighton Fan Dies after Medical Emergency During Fulham Match

A 72-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion supporter has sadly died after falling ill during the second half of the club’s Premier League season opener against Fulham.

Despite swift intervention from emergency services, medical staff, and club personnel, efforts to save the fan were unsuccessful.

Brighton CEO Paul Barber expressed deep sorrow over the incident, saying, “We are devastated by the loss of one of our fans at today’s match. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the gentleman’s family and friends. This was a deeply distressing moment for everyone involved, and we are committed to supporting those affected in the days ahead.”

The match, which ended 1-1, was not halted, as Brighton’s safety team, Sussex Police, and Premier League officials determined that stopping it could interfere with medical efforts or create further complications had the man required urgent transport.
