The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the EFCC and ICPC to launch a probe into allegations that federal lawmakers in the National Assembly pay up to ₦3 million to present bills, motions, and petitions.
This follows a claim by House of Representatives member Ibrahim Auro, who alleged that members pay between ₦1 million and ₦3 million for such legislative actions.
In a letter signed by Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP’s Deputy Director, the group asked the anti-corruption agencies to identify those involved and ensure accountability.
SERAP also called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas to refer the matter to relevant agencies for thorough investigation.
