Lagos LCDA chair distributes 300 free GCE forms

The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Adetola Abubakar, has distributed 300 free General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to school leavers within the council area.

The presentation ceremony took place on Thursday at the council’s Multipurpose Hall, following a screening exercise conducted for the selected beneficiaries.

Abubakar described the initiative as part of her administration’s broader commitment to breaking down educational barriers and fostering equal opportunities for young residents.

A statement released after the event emphasized that the gesture aligns with the administration’s focus on inclusive governance, with a strong emphasis on education and youth empowerment.

“The programme further demonstrates her administration’s unwavering dedication to empowering young people and promoting educational advancement—values that continue to steer Agboyi-Ketu LCDA toward steady progress,” the statement read.

Adetola Abubakar, who previously served as the Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, was elected as council chairman under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the last local government election, she won decisively with 42,770 votes, defeating Salami Taofeek of the Peoples Democratic Party (1,400 votes) and Shoyemi Tolulope of the Labour Party (962 votes).
