The Benue State House of Assembly has elected Hon. Berg Afled Emberga, representing Makurdi North Constituency, as its new Speaker.
This follows the resignation of Hon. Aondona Dajoh on Sunday, amid a week-long leadership crisis within the Assembly.
The election was held during an evening sitting that started around 4:30 p.m. and concluded by 7:00 p.m.
