The NDLEA has intercepted a massive drug shipment worth ₦5.3 billion, concealed in lace fabrics and laced with charms for “spiritual protection.”
The operation, which began on August 26, 2025, at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport, led to the seizure of 17.9kg of cocaine and the arrest of three key members of an international drug syndicate with links to the UK, Brazil, Australia, and the UAE.
Spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed that the bust marks a significant step in dismantling an international organised criminal group (IOCG) operating across continents.
