The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a warning to domestic airlines, insisting they must process passenger ticket refunds within 14 days, as required by Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.
This follows complaints that some airlines were falsely claiming refunds take up to four weeks — a direct violation of regulations.
Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, announced on Monday via X (formerly Twitter), stressing that airlines cannot set their own rules
The NCAA emphasized that misleading customers undermines regulatory authority and is unfair to passengers.
