The Accord Party has officially cleared Governor Ademola Adeleke as its sole aspirant for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Chairman of the Screening Committee and the party’s National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod, who confirmed that Adeleke met all requirements and was deemed a “worthy gubernatorial aspirant.”
Adeleke received his certificate of clearance on Wednesday in Osogbo.
In his response, the governor expressed gratitude to the committee and the party leadership, declaring his readiness for both the primaries and the 2026 general election.
“I am ready for the primary, and I am ready for the general elections. We are winning by God’s grace,” he said.
Governor Adeleke defected to the Accord Party on Tuesday, following his resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on December 2.
