Eyo Festival Returns: Traffic Advisory for Lagos Island

The iconic Eyo Festival, also known as the Adamu Orisha Play, makes a historic return to Lagos Island on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after an eight-year hiatus.

The cultural spectacle will honour distinguished Lagosians, including the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji (mother of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu), former Governors Lateef Jakande and Michael Otedola, among others.

Thousands of white-robed Eyo masquerades are expected to parade through major streets on Lagos Island, accompanied by traditional drums, chants, and rituals.

Traffic Restrictions & Safety Measures

To ensure the smooth movement of the procession and public safety, vehicular movement will be restricted or fully closed along key routes on Lagos Island.

Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be stationed at all diversion points to guide motorists and manage traffic flow.
