… Deploys Tactical Teams, Surveillance Units for Sustained Operations Till January 2026
In a renewed effort to strengthen security and sustain peace across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has ordered a large-scale crackdown on criminal elements operating within the Territory.
The operation, which commences in November 2025 and will run through January 2026, involves coordinated deployments of tactical and surveillance teams from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Police Mobile Force (PMF), and Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU). These units will work closely with the Department of Operations and all Divisional Police Formations to identify, dislodge, and apprehend criminal elements hiding across the FCT.
According to CP Dantawaye, the exercise will be carried out with sustained intensity and consistency, with operatives directed to dominate identified black spots, criminal hideouts, and vulnerable communities to ensure the safety of residents.
“All officers and men involved in this operation must approach their duties with professionalism, integrity, and respect for human rights. No act of misconduct or negligence will be tolerated,” the Commissioner warned.
He urged residents to cooperate fully with police personnel throughout the exercise, emphasising that community collaboration is vital for lasting peace.
“Security is everyone’s responsibility. We encourage residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or activity to the nearest police station,” he added.
