Naval Chief Calls for Stronger Civil-Military Cooperation

Naval Chief Urges Support for Civil-Military Cooperation, Commissions School Project in Delta

The Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, has called for sustained support for the Nigerian Navy’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) initiative and the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ogalla made the appeal on Thursday during the commissioning of a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project in Agbor, Delta State. Represented by the Flag Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, Rear Admiral Oluwole Fadeyi, he emphasized the Navy’s commitment to strengthening ties between the military and civilian communities.

The project included the renovation of Igue Primary School, Ime-Obi — originally built in 1945 — along with perimeter fencing, a borehole, and a security gatehouse. Ogalla noted that the CNS-QIP initiative was designed to enhance community development through strategic projects nationwide.

He acknowledged Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogboi Nmoyem for facilitating the project in his hometown, describing it as a meaningful contribution to national development and a reflection of the Navy’s broader service to society beyond maritime security.

Rear Admiral Nmoyem expressed gratitude to the CNS, praising his leadership and commitment to uplifting communities. He also expressed optimism that the upgraded facilities would greatly enhance learning conditions for pupils.

Dignitaries at the event included the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, HRM Dr. Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi I, Ika South LGA Chairman Hon. Jerry Ehiwariyo, and the Head Teacher of Igue Primary School — all of whom commended the Navy’s developmental impact in the Agbor community.
