The U.S. Mission in Nigeria has announced the arrival of Rick Swart, the new Consul General responsible for the 17 states in southern Nigeria. Swart arrived in Lagos on Wednesday, according to a statement released on Friday.
As Consul General, Swart will oversee U.S. government efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties, enhance people-to-people connections, and advance key priorities in the U.S.-Nigeria bilateral relationship across the southern region.
“I am honoured to serve in Nigeria,” Swart said. “I look forward to travelling across the region, meeting the people, experiencing the culture, and advancing the shared goals of making our two countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”
