Agric college denies court land ruling, says case still pending

The Federal College of Agriculture, Akure, Ondo State, has denied reports claiming that the Supreme Court has ruled in favour of the Ogunmokun Family in a land dispute involving the institution.

Reacting to media reports suggesting that the apex court ordered the family to take over part of the college’s land, the provost, Dr. Albert Fadiyimu, described such claims as misleading and inaccurate. He clarified that the case is still ongoing at the Supreme Court and no final judgment has been delivered.

Fadiyimu acknowledged that the Ogunmokun Family had previously won the land ownership case at both the Ondo State High Court and the Court of Appeal, but stressed that the matter remains unresolved at the highest court.

Earlier media reports had claimed that the Supreme Court, in a judgment delivered by Justices Uwani Aji, Ibrahim Musa Saulawa, Emmanuel Agim, Chidiebere Nwaoma, and Abubakar Umar, ruled in favour of the family. However, the college maintains that no such order has been issued.
